Housing Care Options

Finding a perfect facility for your loved ones is no different than looking for a new house. There are options available, level of care and services, specialized menus, activities and much more that can create a comfortable and properly managed place to retire. In order to understand them better, we have created a list of most common categories of facilities.

Assisted Living

Assisted living is a multi-unit facility usually larger than 15 beds, that provides general assistance and supervision of every day activities, that can include : dressing, bathing, mobility, medication and more. You will also find that they have choices of housing options such as studio, one or two bedroom suites.   All services and options available are created for individuals that need just an extra hand with their every day activities, yet they will remain reasonably independent. Most facilities have options to care for residents with Alzheimer's or Dementia, and they will be able to accommodate couples in case someones condition worsens while in the assisted living housing section.

CCRC

Continuing Care Retirement Communities are multi-age care need facilities that can adjust to residents need as his or her health change. They offer Assisted Living, Independent Living and Nursing Home care in a single location. Thou costly and life-care contract is required most of the time, it is an ideal solution for individuals who's needs need to be evaluated more closely without having to relocate.

Nurisng Homes

Nursing Homes or Skilled Nursing Unit is a facility that provides higher level of care, and monitors their residents more closely than any other facility. It provides both young adults and elderly with level of care necessary for their accident or injury or illness. Facilities are certified to participate and covered by Medicare. The number of qualified staff is significantly higher than in Assisted Living Facilities and are subject to federal regulations.

Respite Care

Respite Care is a short term solution for family members or primary caregivers to provide them with a temporary break and give them physical and emotional support. It is highly recommended level of care primarily for people providing the care, and social and health risks that are sometimes associated with continues care giving. Most independent living facilities and assisted living facilities will offer respite care.

Independent Living

Independent Living Facilities offer complete freedom for their residents, while providing meals and social and personal activities.

Personal Care Homes

Personal Care Homes are private residential homes that can accommodate less than 15 residents. They offer less crowded and more independence for seniors, as well as assistance that can vary from home to home. All activities and housekeeping is covered by a facility.
